Abstract
Our research and analysis of existing points of view on the mechanism of glass dispersion by grinding and polishing with a special abrasive tool showed their differences. Character of the destruction of glass particles, obtained during of grinding, showed its brittle fracture. In case interaction of glass and tools in presents water by polishing were detected chips in the form of plate colloidal origin, as result of hydrolysis of glass with subsequent forming conglomerates.
