RESEARCH INTO INFLUENCE OF FILTRATE MUD LIQUIDS ON ROCKS SWELLING PROCESSES
Abstract
Purpose. Establishment of objective laws of physical and chemical processes which occur in the barrel of bore hole built in the bed of sedimentary rocks. Study of influence of circulation of mud liquids on this process. Formulation of adequate technological measures of the hydraulic program of washing bore hole on its basis.
Methods. Problem definition and working out of calculation scheme of the studied object; development of physical and chemical model which describes occuring processes; choice of decision method of the put tasks; decision of basic mathematical dependences of process with the maximal use of calculable experiment; analysis of the obtained results; formulation of adequate conclusions and recommendations.
Findings. With the purpose of swellings prevention, drilling solutions must be subjected to chemical treatment surfactant. Surfactant will hinder penetration of filtrate mud liquids in interpackage space of clay rock. Surfactant substantially diminish the clays swelling due to filtrate mud liquids. Organic surfactant are more acceptable to usage while treating the mud liquids, as they considerably more effective reduce the degree of clays swelling compared to the inorganic ones.
Originality. The correct selection of mud agents by composition and properties for every specific interval is the effective method of preventing complications while drilling. Competent operative adjustment of the mode of washing depending on properties of destruction rocks is necessary as well.
Practical implications. The wide circle of properties of different compounds, meant to increase the degree of stability of sedimentary rocks in the walls of barrel bore hole is studied. Usage of studied substances will result in the substantial increase of the productivity of drilling work; in the reduction of work time while liquidating complications and failures in a bore hole, or in complete elimination of such work; in the general growth of efficiency and profitability of process of building bore holes
