SPECIFIC FEATURES OF INTERACTION OF DIAMOND CUTTER OF ROCK-DESTROYING TOOL WITH ROCK
Abstract
The main requirements for drilling are high speed and quality, as well as low cost of work. The most popular and promising today is the diamond type of rock cutting tool. Field work conditions imply forced restrictions on the availability of tools. Therefore, when designing a drilling diamond rock cutting tool, it is necessary to take into account the possibility of using it in heterogeneous mining and geological conditions. To create an effective drilling rock cutting tool, taking into account all the requirements and conditions, as well as knowledge about the peculiarities of the interaction of diamond cutters with rocks are required. Purpose of research: to determine the features of the interaction of different types of diamond cutters with rocks. Research methods: analytical research, analysis, computer modeling method. Research results: the mechanisms of destruction of rocks by an ovalized, sharpened diamond and by a PDC cutter are different. Knowledge about the peculiarities of the interaction of a diamond cutter with a rock makes it possible to reinforce a drilling rock-cutting tool with the possibility of using it in changing geological conditions. Practical value: the design of the diamond rock cutting tool, taking into account the peculiarities of the changing conditions of the interaction of the diamond cutter with the rock, and in case technology of its application is correct, will reduce the cost of purchasing additional equipment.
