Abstract

Purpose. Detailed analytical and laboratory study and analysis of the

conditions for stable operation of hydraulic percussion drilling machines, as well as consideration of prerequisites, factors, features, etc. modernization and technical and

technological transformation of individual units and instrumental support for

hydraulic hammers and the corresponding method of well construction.

Methods. The main factors of technical and technological support of the

processes of hydraulic percussion construction of wells for various purposes,

corresponding to the circumstances characteristic of rocks of medium hardness and

hard ones, have been studied by consistently holistic and complex laboratory, as well

as analytical methods. The influence of the parameters of the completed cycle of

operation of existing and proposed innovative percussion drilling machines on the

course and results of the formation of bottomhole conditions for the destruction of the

rock mass is considered and evaluated.

Findings. The main stages of the technological process of hydraulic

percussion drilling of wells and its advantages over other methods of destruction of

the rock mass are characterized. The existence of significant shortcomings in a large

number of proposed and used designs of hydraulic percussion machines is shown,

which do not allow to fully ensure the manifestation of the potential capabilities of

the percussive-rotary method of drilling wells. The design features of innovative

hydraulic percussion machines for well construction in their working cycle of

generating dynamic impulses are considered. A consistent method for determining

the energy parameters of percussion drilling machines and the influence of these

factors on the technical and economic indicators of the bottom hole of wells under

construction in various mining and geological conditions is proposed and analyzed.

Originality. The conditions for the rational conduct and operational efficiency

of wellbore casing operations, during its construction in the thickness of chemogenic

deposits, correspond to certain parameters of the used grouting systems and

measures aimed at eliminating the influence of technological shortcomings of the

wellbore.

Practical implications. The presented results of detailed laboratory and

analytical-constructive studies, as well as some generalizations of industrial bench

data are basic for the design of technical support and regime parameters of the

process of hydraulic percussion construction of wells with guaranteed provision of high technical and economic indicators. Data on the study of internal circulation

processes in hydraulic percussion machines are the initial factors for substantiating

the design and technological parameters of innovative devices for creating dynamic

impulses in order to intensify the processes of deepening the well bottom.
