Abstract

The thermal state of six-punch HPA, which is used for reaction sintering of a composite based on 90 wt.% cBN + 10 wt.% Al, is studied using computer modeling. During sintering, the test sample transforms from the dielectric to the conducting state and vice versa, which was taken into account in the simulation. The values of the electro- and thermophysical properties of HPA materials were adjusted in accordance with the experimentally determined volt-ampere characteristics of the sintering process. The thermoelectric fields obtained as a result of solving the quasi-stationary problem describe the thermal state of the reaction volume at different stages of composite reaction sintering.
